- Over 100 Students Sponsored
Nampala Foundation Volunteers are committed to providing quality and inclusive education for children and adults, ensuring access to learning opportunities regardless of socio-economic background, gender, or disability. The initiative focuses on literacy programs, vocational training, and school support to empower individuals for a better future.
After the death of one Nampala. W. James who had volunteered and started a project of “shinning star Nursery and Primary school” in the year 2005 teaching from his compound to educate the vulnerable and orphans. He started with 15 children and by the time of his death, the number had reached 80 children. Seeing their suffering and with no adult to care, a small community based organization was formed in the name of “Nampala Foundation Volunteers” to continue helping these children survive.
The Nampala Foundation Volunteers currently educates 100 orphans and vulnerable children in Mayuge district. We are planning to take in more and also expand to other districts in Eastern Uganda like Bugiri. Luuka among others respectively.
One to financial constrains, most of the children are non-residents for they live with one or both parents in the community, or have been placed with guardians in the surrounding environments through the effort of NFV.
The Foundation is an advocate for “ALL” Children it advises, recommends, and promotes for changes at many different levels to improve children’s and the community’s health and well being.
