LEARN MOREThe Nampala Foundation Volunteers began 2008 as a community based initiative to support children orphaned by HIV/AIDs and other ailments in Kaluuba and Lubali Villages in Mayuge district of Eastern Uganda. At present the foundation is running a primary school (with hopes of expanding to include a secondary school, vocational centre, orphanage centre, health centre and demonstration farms with your help.) based on formal primary education and Christianity. NFV is managed by a small yet very active, board of directors, all who share a deep passion for the needs of our children and the community in general.
After the death of one Nampala. W. James who had volunteered and started a project of “shinning star Nursery and Primary school” in the year 2005 teaching from his compound to educate the vulnerable and orphans. He started with 15 children and by the time of his death, the number had reached 80 children.Seeing their suffering and with no adult to care, a small community based organization was formed in the name of “Nampala Foundation Volunteers” to continue helping these children survive.
A commitment is made to support each child by giving him or her strong educational foundation, a good time, self esteem and values, and to help them plan how they can earn a steady livelihood as a step towards improving their standards of living. Besides, Our services go beyond Agriculture, Water and sanitation, Empowerment and and environment protection.
Nampala Foundation Volunteers is committed to providing quality and inclusive education for children and adults, ensuring access to learning opportunities regardless of socio-economic background, gender, or disability.
The foundation works to improve access to clean and safe drinking water while promoting proper sanitation and hygiene practices. This includes conducting awareness campaigns to prevent waterborne diseases.
Through sustainable farming practices, training, and resource support, the foundation helps communities increase agricultural productivity, reduce food shortages, and promote resilience against climate change.
The foundation champions environmental conservation efforts such as tree planting, waste management, and climate change awareness to protect natural resources for future generations.
The foundation actively engages in community-driven initiatives that promote social and economic empowerment, particularly for women, youth, and marginalized groups.
